Diagnosis of group A streptococcal infection activity. Assesses the cellular response (antigen-specific T cells) in group A streptococcal infection (Streptococcus pyogenes). The assay is performed on a test not officially approved for in vitro diagnosis. The result may only be of assistance in establishing the diagnosis.
EliSpot assays are recommended approximately 6 weeks after treatment completion to assess the effectiveness of the treatment.
