Enteroviruses (Enteroviruses):
Enteroviruses belong to the picornavirus family.
They consist of 23 subspecies of Coxsackie virus type A, six subspecies of Coxsackie virus type B, 31 species of Echo viruses, and many other Enteroviruses.
Humans are the only source of the virus.
Enteroviruses can cause fever, respiratory and gastrointestinal diseases, as well as encephalitis, lymphocytic meningitis, fatigue, myalgias, pericarditis and myocarditis, hepatitis, insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, and herpangina and hand-foot-mouth syndrome (HFM).
