Symptoms usually occur within 2-9 days. They may recur in periods of varying length or persist. Unlike infection with Borrelia burgdorferi, erythema migrans usually does not appear.

Atypical symptoms of an infection caused by Borrelia miyamotoithere could be: Abdominal pain, diarrhea, hepatitis, myocarditis, arrhythmias, pulmonary symptoms (e.g., ARDS), disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), facial nerve palsy, hearing loss, iritis (inflammation of the iris), polyneuropathy, or
neuropsychiatric disorders.
