Description
Babesia microti (Elispot)
ELISPOT (Enzyme-linked immunosorbent spot)-a method for detecting cells (T-lymphocytes) that secrete certain products (cytokines, mediators, etc.).
The method is highly sensitive and can detect even one single T-cell reacting to the infection.
Diagnosis of Babesia microti infection activity. Assesses cellular response (antigen-specific T cells) in babesiosis.
EliSpot assays are recommended approximately 6 weeks after treatment completion to assess the effectiveness of the treatment.
