The laboratory offers tests for borreliosis, co-infections, parasitic infections and sexually transmitted diseases, which can become chronic and their diagnosis with modern tests such as Elispot is not yet available everywhere.
The laboratory has long been known for its bartonella antibody tests, immunoblots for borreliosis with pre-separation of immune complexes (KKI), immunoblots for yersiniosis, toxocarosis and chlamydia, and antibody avidity tests. Since the beginning of 2019, the laboratory is the first and the only one in Poland to independently perform Elispot assays.
Tomasz Wielkoszyński - doctor, professor.
He holds a doctorate in medical sciences and is also an associate professor at the University of Strategic Planning in Dąbrowa Górnicza. He teaches students immunology, bacteriology and virology as well as infectious diseases.Since 2008 Professor Tomasz Wielkoszynski has specialized in tests for Lyme disease and other tick-borne diseases. He has been involved in many national and international research projects related to Lyme disease research.
